Multiple vulnerabilities found in Whatsapp,WhatsApp business for iOS,warns CERT-In

 


Facebook owned messaging platform Whatsapp were becoming as a top notch in news due to severel  reasons but its going to change now.Computer Emergency Response Team(CERT-In) had stated some vulnerabilities have been spotted in Whatsapp iOS version.The report from CERT-In had said there are multiple vulnerabilities on your WhatsApp and Whatsapp business for iOS.These severe Vulnerabilities could lead to executing arbitrary code or bypass security restrictions on the target system.

As per the report of CERT-In one of the many vulnerabilities were in the screen lock of both WhatsApp and Whatsapp business for iOS due to improper authorisation of input.CERT-In said hackers could exploit this vulnerability by communicating with Siri even when the phone is locked.

Another devastating vulnerability were found in the logging library of both Whatsapp for iOS.As per the report it could allow a remote attacker to cause several events occurring in sequence by sending a special animated sticker while placing a video call on hold,Which could lead to memory corruption,denial of service conditions or execution of remote code.

If you are a Whatsapp iOS user,there is a way which you can prevent these vulnerabilities from attacking.To cover up yourself from those attacks update your WhatsApp to the latest version from the Apple App Store.

Besides continuous incidents of stealing user data and hacking through the app.The messaging platform has been working really hard to prevent the spreading of misinformation on the platform.Whatsapp also introduced several small and useful features to its billion + users to combat the spread of misinformation.just a few months ago the platform limited the participants in forwarded messages.Whatsapp also launched a feature that would allow its users to check were the information being shared is accurate or not.
